Mirror-making industry, 19th century. Illustration of Empress Eugenie of France (centre, 1826-1920) and others examining a mirror during the production process. The mirror is from the Saint Gobain glassworks. Artwork from volume 3 (1874) of a republication of 'Les Grandes Usines', a multi-volume work on French industry by journalist and author Julien Turgan (1824-1887).
